Our Mission: Safe Horizon's mission is to provide support, prevent violence and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities.? ? Safe Horizon is the largest and most comprehensive provider of victim services in the Country and is the only organization to operate five nationally accredited Child Advocacy Centers in an urban setting.??The Child Advocacy Centers are comprised of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) of experts including Safe Horizon staff, detectives from the New York Police Department, child protection staff and attorneys from the Administration for Children's Services, Assistant District Attorney's and child abuse pediatricians from premier hospitals. The CAC MDT works together in a trauma-informed and coordinated manner, to investigate and respond to allegations of child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse. In 2018, Safe Horizon CACs provided services to approximately 10,000 child abuse victims and 4,000 parents and caregivers, promoting justice and healing.?? ? RESPONSIBILITIES:The Director of Clinical & Forensic Services oversees the array of mental health, forensic interviewing and victim support and advocacy services provided by Safe Horizon staff at the CAC. The Director of Clinical & Forensic Services provides trauma-focused, clinical leadership, vision and expert consultation to CAC staff and the multi-disciplinary team, on all aspects of direct service operations. ? Specific responsibilities of the Director of Clinical & Forensic Services include the following: ??????????Provide direct service staff and graduate student interns, when applicable, with individual and group clinical supervision including supervision of an evidence-based treatment- The Child & Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI)?? ??????????Provide expert trauma-informed clinical consultation?to staff and CAC MDT partners, on content issues pertaining to the impact of trauma on children and adults, child development, forensic interviewing and client-centered victim support and advocacy services ??????????Promote Safe Horizon's racial equity work in all facets of our service provision ??????????Model effective collaboration, conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills to the MDT ??????????Manage the schedule of clinical staff to ensure adequate coverage 7 days/week ??????????Develop and maintain effective relationships with community mental health providers and other CBOs to ensure appropriate mental health treatment and victim support & advocacy referral services are available for SICAC child victims and impacted family members when needed ??????????Assume primary responsibility for planning, coordinating and facilitating regularly scheduled Case Review meetings in coordination with the SICAC Senior Director and Multi-disciplinary Team Coordinator with participation from the MDT ??????????Assists in conducting forensic interviews and providing CFTSI?? ??????????Actively participates in citywide CAC Directors meetings and citywide practice initiatives including the CAC IDCR and quality improvement plans ??????????Responsible for identifying and implementing staff training and development plans ??????????Utilizes client data to inform the quality of service provision and integrate into supervisory discussions ??????????Ensures that staff accurately document service provision in the CAC CMS data system ??????????Develops and implements strategies for addressing vicarious trauma ??????????Represents Safe Horizon on external committees when appropriate ??????????Assumes program coverage of the SICAC in the absence of the Senior Director ? SUPERVISION: Directly supervises 5 employees and 1-2 graduate student interns, when applicable. ? QUALIFICATIONS:?An advanced degree in Social Work, or a related field and clinical licensure required.?Prior clinical supervision experience required.??Bi-lingual (English/Spanish preferred: Prior experience working with children and families impacted by abuse and trauma is preferred; An appreciation for the CAC multidisciplinary team program model and alignment with Safe Horizon's anti-racism work is essential. Strong leadership, organizational, team-building, conflict-resolution skills preferred. ? HOURS:?Full Time, some evening and on-call hours required.
